Four FLEX students were selected to go to the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in recognition of their achievements during the past year in the Future Leaders Exchange Program:
Polina Rogozhina (Russia/ Arizona)
Polina was this years’ winner of the FLEX community service award and was very active as a member of the Mountain View High School FFA and Volunteerism for Pride Organization. During the year, she participated in over 20 volunteer, fundraising and community service events.
Theona Khabeishvili (Georgia/California)
Theona Khabeishvili was this years’ honorable mention in the FLEX leadership category and was very active in FFA and Lions “Leo” Club at Esparto High School. Theona was elected by her schoolmates to the Student Council and served as the fundraising chairperson. She served as a translator for a group of Georgian teachers and students participating in a school partnership program. She is featured in an article in the FFA New Horizons magazine.
Iryna Polishchuk (Ukraine/Indiana)
Iryna was this years’ honorable mention for the FLEX leadership category. As a member of the South Whitley FFA, she was a member of the state winning meats judging team. She also participated in three state career development competitions, including being a member of the parliamentary procedure team.
Yuliya Harvas ( Ukraine/California)
Yuliya was this years’ honorable mention in the FLEX entrepreneurship and business category. Yuliya raised two lambs and exhibited them at the Fresno Winter Fair. She was an active member of the Tollhouse FFA Chapter and gave many presentations about her native Ukraine while in the USA.
